Personal Observation: The Changing World of Marketing

I believe that the skills required to effectively market a company – of any size – are drastically changing.  Today’s marketer had best have an understanding of Mobile Marketing, Social Media Marketing, and very soon that will include Virtual Solutions as well.

Consumers today want to do business with companies who ‘talk to them’, not ‘talk at them’.  The days where a company decides what the message will be and then forces it upon consumers are long gone; today, consumers will tell the company what the message should be, and which messages they are willing to accept.
